Motherhood

As I dipped into an eternal bliss of motherhood
I glimpsed fondly at my new-born child
Brushing my fingers over those puny pinkish nails.
As she shifted in my lap, I wished she felt coziest.
After a journey of subsequent abortions
By the perilous misfortune of miscarriage
I heaved a sigh of relief to be able to conceive.
Serendipity never fitted in my life's Rubik cube.
I was thrown into a rabbit hole tagged as a "witch"
Society spitted my existence with endless sterility
"I fear for you my bud, my blood, my heir to wealth
Don't discard me as your father, that's my only wish
Hopefully, my life won't deja vu in your existence"
I muttered these words softly into my princess's ears.
